InStranet Teams with IBM to Power
Corporate Extranet Applications
InStranet 2000 and IBM WebSphere Application
Server offer enterprises a powerful solution in Web content management
New York, March 8, 2001 – InStranet,
Inc., developer of innovative enterprise-level Web content management
software for corporate users, today announced that it has teamed
up with IBM (NYSE: IBM) and integrated its flagship product, InStranet
2000, with IBM WebSphere Application Server.
InStranet develops extranet applications that allow large enterprises
to exchange information and to collaborate on service-related activities
with clients and business partners. InStranet's cornerstone product,
InStranet 2000, provides a Content Warehouse, a patent-pending,
multidimensional database technology that streamlines the organization
and navigation of Web content for e-business initiatives. Under
the agreement, InStranet will provide Global 2000 companies with
access to InStranet 2000 based upon IBM WebSphere. As part of IBM's
Independent Software Vendor Program, InStranet coupled with WebSphere
will provide a solution that enables operations-based business users
to publish, organize and personalize multimedia Web content.
InStranet 2000 is an open platform, Java-based Web content management
solution designed to operate in large corporate environments. It
allows non-technical users to independently generate and classify
multimedia Web content with "drag and drop" functionality,
using only a browser. Publishers can create Web pages that dynamically
change based on who is viewing them, and users can further personalize
their own view of the information provided. Additional benefits
of InStranet's patent-pending multidimensional Web content management
technology include faster time to market for enterprise-level implementations,
dramatic improvement in the ability to locate and retrieve content,
and lower total cost of ownership.
"InStranet 2000 together with IBM WebSphere Application Server
will enable end-users to self-publish on the Web. The ability to
deliver fresh and informative content in a timely manner is critical
to every online company. InStranet 2000 allows any business user
to publish, organize and personalize their Web content without having
any programming skills, and is based on key open standards such
as Java and XML," stated Eric Menache, WebSphere Marketing
Director, IBM Software Group.
"As an established leader, IBM has been at the forefront of
addressing e-business needs across industries," stated Anthony
Jewitt, Senior Vice President of Marketing, InStranet. "As
InStranet works with companies seeking to exchange critical service
related information with their corporate customers, integration
with the WebSphere family of application servers ensures a best-of-breed
solution."
