InStranet Announces the
Appointment of Barry M. Ariko to Chairman of the Board
Software Industry Veteran Strengthens Operational
Talent of Board of Directors
New York, March 27, 2003 – InStranet,
Inc., a leading provider of Content-Based Applications for the enterprise,
today announced the appointment of Barry M. Ariko to Chairman of
the Board. The Silicon Valley executive brings strong operational
software expertise to InStranet, as it continues to expand its market
share within Fortune 1000 companies.
Ariko has held numerous executive-level positions throughout a successful
career, spanning over 30 years. As CEO of Extricity, he led the
growth of the company and its eventual sale for $270 million. Previously,
Ariko was executive vice president and chief operating officer at
Netscape, and after the merger, served as senior vice president
of the Netscape Enterprise Group at America Online. Prior to that,
he served as executive vice president for Oracle, where he headed
Oracle’s Americas operations, the company’s largest
business unit, which grew under his tenure from $680 million in
total revenues in 1994 to over $4 billion in 1998.
Ariko also served at Tandem Computers for 13 years in various executive
management roles. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree
in Management from Golden Gate University in San Francisco and completed
the Advanced Executive Program at Northwestern University’s
J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
“Barry is a respected and experienced veteran of the enterprise
software industry, who since 2001 has brought vision and proven
management talent to an already strong and diverse board of directors,”
said Alex Dayon, chief executive officer at InStranet. “As
InStranet continues to grow and strengthen as a company, we are
pleased to be able to benefit even more from his leadership and
experience.”
Ariko’s appointment as Chairman of the Board is effective
immediately. As a board member, Ariko has been involved in the transformation
of the company from web content management to content-based applications.
With the release of its new Contact Centers In-Line application
last month, InStranet now offers three distinct applications, each
designed to automate the complex content-rich marketing and sales
processes between an enterprise and its channels. InStranet now
has added analytics to its software suite, helping Fortune1000 companies
analyze and adjust to partner, channel and contact center agent
usage of content and documents. The three business process-based
applications run on top of InStranet’s secure metadata-driven
repository and its J2EE-based Content Application Foundation.
“InStranet has a unique value proposition with great momentum,
combined with a talented management team and history of robust technical
innovation,” said Barry M. Ariko. “I look forward to
serving in a more active role, by providing guidance in addressing
a fast growing market, as well as helping build the company into
one of the leading players in the Content-Based Application space.”
