InStranet Selected by the Orange Group for
Worldwide Brand Site
InStranet's Content-Based Applications Enable Orange to Manage Content Across Multiple Channels Including Member Companies and Suppliers
New York, April 16, 2003 –
InStranet, Inc. today announced that the Orange Group has selected InStranet Content-Based Applications to enable a new site communicating brand information to its member companies, agencies and suppliers.
Orange has an international presence in 19 countries, serving more than 44 million customers and is now the largest mobile phone company in both the United Kingdom and France in terms of number of active customers. The worldwide brand team has numerous assets, such as a digital asset library and examples of Orange advertising in different geographies, as well as guidelines and style guides.
"We needed a better way to share brand information and to allow people to contribute to the site," said Louisa Milner, Worldwide Brand Communications Manager, new media.
She added: "Aside from the people who work for us, the Orange brand is one of the most precious resources we have. InStranet is being used to provide a branding community within the global intranet, and acts as an extranet for our external suppliers, such as design and ad agencies, using InStranet’s rights-based secure access. This provides a place for the brand department to collaborate and share ideas."
Following a corporate-wide integration programme, the project team reviewed the process for automating distribution of brand information across the group. It was decided that a more sophisticated application was needed to manage this process.
InStranet provides content-based applications that are designed to streamline the exchange of the vast amounts of business information produced by corporations in the course of conducting business, both internally among diverse business units, and externally with their selling partners, distributors and corporate customers. InStranet enables business users to incorporate data generated from other e-business applications with unstructured business content, such as promotions, procedures, product datasheets, price lists and competitive analyses. InStranet also permits sophisticated access control and user segmentation as well as expanded bi-directional, cross-enterprise workflow and tracking functionality.
In addition, InStranet provides the opportunity for the Orange Group to reduce costs by reducing the time required to launch information related to the brand. The new site launched on the 31st of January 2003.
