Drives Improvements in Marketing Productivity with InStranet and T-Systems
With its new site “3M Marketing Online”,
3M’s European Stationery & Office Supplies Division centralizes
marketing strategies across Europe, strengthening field channels
and collaboration
Paris/La Défense, September
30, 2003 –
InStranet, a leader in the Content-Based Applications market,
and the French subsidiary of T-Systems, a leading European
technology and telecom service provider, today announced
they were selected by 3M to power its new site "3M Marketing
Online".
3M’s European Stationery & Office Supplies division,
responsible for the commercialization of world renown brands
Post-It® and Scotch®, was looking for a new application
that would centralize all marketing strategies between the
European entity and other 3M European subsidiaries. In line
with 3M’s global initiative “e-productivity”,
3M Marketing Online will centralize all information related
to marketing and sales initiatives, thus ensuring overall
company effectiveness and marketing efficiency. 3M Marketing
Online also simplifies team collaboration and encourages
better management of marketing resources.
“Constantly
improving our productivity and results are key
objectives in regards to commercializing our European
Paper
and Office product lines across our international sales network,” said
Anne Bertrand, Market Development Manager for Scotch® brand,
3M. “3M Marketing Online is key to our worldwide ‘e-productivity’ initiative.
Thanks to InStranet and T-Systems, this project will accelerate
marketing strategy deployment across Europe and will result
in more responsive and better informed teams, while reducing
information exchange costs and encouraging economies of scale.”
|
Accessible by more than 150 users across Europe, 3M Marketing
Online provides a powerful sales and marketing knowledge
base, centralizing all information necessary to Paper and
Office marketing teams: image banks, market research, best
practices, event planning, product datasheets, pricelists,
promotions, merchandising campaigns, etc. Thanks to InStranet’s
extensive publishing and personalization features, 3M Marketing
Online is a truly bi-directional and interactive site: it
provides each user with their own personal workspace, but
also gives users the possibility to enrich site content themselves.
“The
key element of interest in this site resides in its
bi-directional capabilities, which makes it easier
to publish and search across all 3M marketing and
sales information. As each user contributes content
proactively and the site is integrated with all internal
databases, information is dynamically updated on
the fly. The site’s content evolves in real
time. 3M Marketing Online was conceived as a platform
where all information could be readily created and
accessed, irrespective of the search methodology
or local user practice,” stated
Julie Vergnion, e-business project leader, 3M.
|
After looking at different solutions, 3M selected InStranet’s
multidimensional document organization technology, which
allowed 3M to significantly simplify the information distribution
processes for their sales network. Knowledge concerning products,
best practices and promotions now circulates freely on 3M
Marketing Online, enhancing “best practice sharing” and
collaboration between headquarters and the field sales network,
improving team performance and productivity, while reducing
costs.
“As a project integrator, our main objective is to provide our clients
the highest value-add solution while respecting market technology standards.
When addressing the need for a marketing information reference system that
optimizes sales network productivity, InStranet provides a perfect fit. In
addition, InStranet’s applications address the core of our company stored
knowledge base and provide a unique solution, with high relevance for the field,” said
Guy-Laurent Barcet, e-technologies Sales Director, T-Systems in France.
|
Finally, 3M indicated that speed of integration was also a determinant in selecting
InStranet. “InStranet provides all the necessary tools for effective
integration by an SI; the product has a complement of out-of-the-box features
and utilizes industry standards. These features highly simplify integration
in a customer’s information system. InStranet’s technology is completely
aligned with a project management approach, providing out-of-the-box enterprise
software along with the flexibility to develop customized solutions. With InStranet,
projects are delivered on time with quality integration,” summarized
Frédéric Berzolla, Portals Service Offering Manager, e-technologies,
T-Systems in France.
To prove the point of speed of integration with existing systems, 3M’s
Marketing Online site was launched March 21, 2003 after only a 4-month development
and implementation project.
