InStranet Issued Patent for Multi-Dimensional Content Organization and Delivery
Enables Simplified Knowledge Organization and Personalization
CHICAGO – November 14, 2006 –
InStranet, Inc., a global provider of multi-channel knowledge applications, today announced that it has been issued U.S. Patent No. 7,130,879 for a “System for Publishing, Organizing, Accessing and Distributing Information in a Computer Network.” The patent describes InStranet’s multi-dimensional Web knowledge organization and delivery technology and includes sixteen claims relating to accessing, organizing, categorizing, and searching content.
InStranet’s software uses a system of "dimensions" to filter content by multi-dimensional categories such as document type, geographic location, corporate department, employee classification, time period, etc. The foundation of InStranet’s software’s data model uniquely solves the problem of categorizing and securing large amounts of knowledge within an enterprise knowledge base, and is one of the building blocks of Web 2.0 applications for collaboration and communication. The patent secures InStranet’s ability to define a data model and related meta-data for tagging complete or partial documents which ensures knowledge is easily accessible and personalized based on the document type and user attributes.
“InStranet’s multi-dimensional technology is the foundation of our customer service application strategy since it enables organizations to easily categorize and personalize service resolution information across customer facing channels such as call centers, Web self-service, and retail locations,” said Alex Dayon, CEO of InStranet. “Furthermore, our technology responds to enterprise Web 2.0 demands as it supports business processes which require collaboration and individual contribution.”
